Tobin's first visit to Telluride was on a family ski trip when he was 5 years old and immediately fell in love with the area and brought Jennifer to visit when they were first married.

They came up with the idea for the Telluride 100 as they were skiing slopes off of Chair 4/Village Express at the Telluride Ski Resort during the Winter of 2011. After several years of planning the race was finally launched in July 2014 and going on it's 10th year.
Aside from owning businesses in Telluride, Jennifer teaches first grade at Telluride Elementary and Tobin is a Ski Instructor in the Winter and Mountain Bike Instructor in the Summer.
